Vineyards, castles and wine
We walk through the wooded Langhe (pr. Lan-gay) hills of Piedmont, renowned for the white truffles found buried there, before descending towards the Tanaro Valley through the famous vineyards of Barolo, producing some of Italy’s most outstanding wines.
The countryside is a picturesque patchwork interspersed with woods, hill-top villages and castles, and the area is famed as much for its food as its wines - refined country cooking which follows the seasons.
