Perfectly preserved Renaissance towns, so picturesque that they have the almost surreal quality of film sets. Telc, with its huge central square lined with harmoniously decorated façades and castle mirrored in one of the area’s countless lakes; Slavonice, its houses decorated with sgraffiti; Cesky Krumlov – ‘Prague in the country’– Renaissance and Medieval; and of course Prague itself.
