As part of ATG’s commitment to minimising the negative impact of our holidays on the environment we have combined forces with Friends of Conservation to offset carbon emissions for all flights booked through ATG. ATG's contribution for 2007 was £3,761.71.
It is difficult not to notice the reality of global warming. Carbon dioxide is the most significant greenhouse gas, which is contributing to global warming. "Flying is the most carbon intensive way to travel. Aviation at present accounts for 3% of greenhouse gases and generates nearly as much carbon dioxide in one year as the total population of Africa." Friends of Conservation
We have calculated how much carbon is emitted by your flights and on this basis make a contribution to a Friends of Conservation project, which will offset these emissions. Projects vary and include reforestation and developing alternative energy sources, such as biogas.
If you would like to protect our environment and offset your emissions but you are not buying your flights through ATG, please click on the logo below, which will take you to the Friends of Conservation website, where you can calculate your emissions and make a donation.
